Getting Involved

North Way Oakland offers several ways – from formal to informal – to get more involved in our church:

Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to get to know some other people as you serve alongside them. You are welcome to join us every Sunday at 10:20 a.m. to pray together before the service begins and to serve at the Sunday service. Every week, we need people to serve as ushers and greeters, to serve in our KiDZ ministry, and in our worship and tech ministry.

To learn more, contact Amy Swaagman at amysw@northway.org.

Meet the Pastor

There is an opportunity every Sunday after the service to meet the North Way Oakland pastor, Mike Arnold. Please stop by after the service to get connected in this way.

Twice a year North Way Oakland holds a Meet the Pastor's Dessert where you have an opportunity to get to know the North Way Oakland pastors, as well as hear from North Way Christian Community leaders about the future of the church and new initiatives.

After-Service Lunch

One of our goals here at North Way Oakland is to help people foster connections. In order to help you make connections with other members of our community, we have initiated a North Way Oakland tradition. We all head down to a local restaurant after the service to share a meal and get to know each other.

Have an idea on how you and others can get more involved? Let us know. Contact Amy Swaagman at amysw@northway.org.

Core Team

The Core Team is the heart and soul of North Way Oakland. It is made up of about 60-70 people who meet every other month to share in a meal and reflect on what God has done in our community and to discuss the future plans of North Way Oakland. The Core Team is open to everyone and sets the tone for what is coming through the North Way Oakland community.

Community Service

We are more than a church. We are part of the community.

North Way Oakland’s mission is to actively connect to and support the community and region we call home. We seek to turn our faith into action by speaking and acting out against injustice.

For this reason, we will soon be creating several initiatives to address issues that impact the community, such as poverty, homelessness, hunger and abuse.

We are looking for individuals with a passion for using their faith to make a difference. If you are interested in leading or participating in one of these critical initiatives, please contact Dan Bryan at danb@northway.org.
